John T. "Tim" Evans was born in Ill. in 1923 and joined the Army at Fresno, Calif. in 1942. At the time of his enlistment he had one year of college and was unmarried. Evans joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. and was assigned to Company A, and later to Service Company of the 86th Infantry Regiment. After transferring to Camp Swift, Tex. he was sent to Italy. Evans was awarded the Bronze Star medal for his action in the Apennines in 1945. He was killed in action at Torbole, Ita...
